CLOSED: First Call of Conserva Aves Panama

The call seeks to add to the 30x30 target under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, therefore, it aims to solicit, receive and evaluate the submission of projects focused on the creation and expansion of protected areas at the sub-national level, according to the National System of Protected Areas (SINAP), as well as Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures (OMEC). The call is led by Fundación Natura, with the support of the Panama Audubon Society.

Components of the Call

1. Creation and declaration of new municipal and/or private protected areas in priority areas for birds, in addition to Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures (OMEC), including the design of their management plans, bird monitoring and financial sustainability.

2. Expansion of existing municipal and/or private protected areas into priority areas for birds, plus Other Effective Area-based Conservation Measures (OMEC), including the design of their management plans, bird monitoring and financial sustainability.
