We seek to conserve endangered, endemic and migratory bird species in decline and safeguard their important habitats in the Tropical Andes region of Peru through the creation of subnational protected areas (regional, municipal, communal, indigenous, public or private).
hHigh-Profile Conservation Partnership Includes National Audubon Society, BirdLife International, American Bird Conservancy and RedLAC members.
Applicants must meet the following criteria: Be a local or international non-governmental organization (NGO), conservation, economic and community development, academic institutions, indigenous organizations, community organizations, or private sector representatives interested in the sustainable use of natural resources. Have legal status independent of any government agency or actor. Have the capacity, according to national legislation, to receive donations, and be able to manage them transparently and under an independent bank account. Organizations may also apply in alliance with another organization, with one of them designated as the lead organization.
The call considers the following two investment priorities: The creation of new regional, municipal, communal territories, indigenous or private protected areas in priority areas for birds, and the design and implementation of their management plans and financial sustainability. The expansion of existing regional, municipal, communal, indigenous or private protected areas in priority areas for birds, and the strengthening of their management plans and financial sustainability.
