The new "Reserva Natural Refugio Tororoi" will protect the "Tororoi de Cundinamarca", one of the few remaining populations in the humid montane forests of the eastern slopes of the Colombian Eastern Andes.

The Reserva Natural Refugio Tororoi covers an area of 180.52 hectares of cloud forest on the eastern slopes of the Andes, southeast of Bogotá, Colombia. Created through a partnership between the American Bird Conservancy (ABC), the Fundación Camaná Conservación y Territorio, the direct investment funds of the Conserva Aves Initiative, and the Herrera family, the reserve protects critical habitat for the endangered Cundinamarca Antpitta(Grallaria kaestneri).
The population of these birds is small, ranging between 330 and 800 individuals, as is its distribution area, making its conservation extremely important.
